MYC diversion for Youth Offenders ages 10—17 referred by local law enforcement, schools, and Probation include:
- Confidential review of case by MYC Case Manager and a Youth Attorney;
- Preparation for Court Hearing with an MYC Case Manager and a Youth Attorney;
- Guidance towards successful Sentence Completion by a MYC Case Manager and trained peers, including referrals for any services needed by the youth or family;
Mandatory sentence components:
- MYC Juror Service (3 - 9 hours)
- Community Service (12 - 60 hours)
- Age-appropriate, gender specific workshops (dependent upon offense)
Other sentence components may include:
- Anger Management Classes
- Healthy Risks
- Healthy Boundaries and Positive Self Expression
- Substance Abuse Counseling
- Individual Counseling & Family Counseling
- Letters of Apology, special projects
Youth Offenders who successfully complete their sentence are encouraged to join MYC’s Law & Justice Academy.
